School Chaplaincy

Kensington Primary School is proud to have a school chaplain, Meng Chan, at the school every Monday and Wednesday.

The school chaplaincy programme aims to support the emotional wellbeing of students through the provision of pastoral care services and strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of the broader school community.

The role of the chaplain at the school is to speak individually with children who self refer to the service because of something they want to talk about whether it be issues around friendship or conflict with other students.

The chaplain role also runs programs in the classrooms such as BUZ (Build UP Zone). These programs involve working with the whole class and the class teacher, and involve a number of topic areas including:

  • Making and keeping friends
  • Dealing with conflict
  • Building resilience.
