Principal's Message
Reminder that Term 4 starts on Tuesday
As have now reverted to our usual School Development Day (Pupil Free Day) being the Monday after the holidays. So, please note that the next pupil free day will be 13th October so students will return to school on Tuesday 14th October.
We wish everyone a lovely two-week break and look forward to seeing you back for the last term of the year.
New IT System Coming – Compass
The school has moved to the new Department IT system - Compass. It replaces our old database. As part of this, we will be using a different source for our SMS attendance messages. Please expect SMS messages from 'Kensington' from now on. These messages will provide you with a link to respond and provide a reason for an absence. Do not reply to the SMS - click on the link in the SMS.
We aim to reduce the number of apps parents need to access as we progress with transferring to the new Compass system next year.
Reminder for Kindy Families: Enrol for Pre-primary Now!
If your child is currently attending Kindergarten at our school, it's time to take the next important step in their learning journey - enrolment for Pre-primary!
In Western Australia, Pre-primary is the first year of compulsory schooling, and all children who turn five by 30 June 2026 (born between 1st July 2020 and 30th June 2021) must be enrolled to start in Term 1 next year. Even if your child is already attending Kindy here, a separate enrolment form is required to secure their place in Pre-primary.
Why enrol now? Early enrolment helps us plan class sizes, staffing and resources to ensure a smooth transition and the best possible start for your child. You will also ensure you receive any preparatory information required for the start of Pre-primary.
What to do:
- Visit the front office to collect an enrolment pack
- Return completed forms as soon as possible
- Include all supporting documents, as listed on our website
Let’s work together to make sure every child is ready for a confident start to school life in 2026. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
School Uniforms:
Beat the rush in January 2026 and visit Uniform Concepts now to take advantage of the appointment system and Layby facility.
Free Travel with a Student Smartrider:
Students with a valid Student SmartRider can enjoy free travel on Transperth services for any journey from Monday to Friday, until the end of the 2025 school year.
To access free travel, students must tag on and tag off correctly with a SmartRider every time they use public transport. When travelling by bus, students need to tag on at the front door. They can tag off at any door when exiting.
Tagging on and off helps Transperth plan enough buses to get everyone to and from school safely and on time.

Foyer Display - Pre-primary 3
As a part of their Geography unit this term, PP3 have been learning about special places. For this activity, each child chose a place around our school that was special to them for their own reason. They then got to visit their special place and discuss ways they could look after it. They hope you enjoy reading their ideas!

Foodbank WA's nom! Kids Incursion
On Friday 19th of September 2025, the Year 3s in Room 7 had a nom! Kids incursion as part of Hawaiian the shopping centre’s Smart Sparks initiative. Students learnt about healthy eating and then cooked up a total of five dishes that featured the five core food groups! All students helped to prepare healthy and delicious recipes together, and at the end they all sat down and had a feast, trying new foods with their peers and finding new favourite foods! It was fantastic! Students were given recipe books to use at home, and we are looking forward to what they cook next with their awesome cooking skills!

The riders received a certificate and wristband at the end of the course. Thanks to parents, Elizabeth and Travis, for assisting each week with the sessions.
