Below is a summary of the enrolment process.  Please ring our office on 6436 8448 should you have any queries or need further information.  We are happy to assist you and provide any information required.

Enrolment Process

An application for enrolment form must be completed by a parent or guardian for each child wishing to attend Kensington Primary.  Please ring the office on 6436 8448 so that we can discuss your child's eligibility to attend Kensington Primary School and if eligible, we will send you the required form.

A birth certificate must be sighted at the time of applying.  If both parents were born overseas, an Australian passport or visa grant papers are required.  Two pieces of evidence of proof of residency within the local intake area must also be provided, proving that the applicant is residing at the address.  This should include your most recent gas, water or electricity bill and rates notice/purchase agreement or lease agreement (minimum of three months' term of lease).

A current Australian Immunisation Record (AIR) will be required once the application for enrolment has been accepted.  The AIR is available from your my.gov account.

Students will be placed in the year of study corresponding to their age group.

Applications for enrolment for kindergarten are accepted from April/May in the year prior to attendance.  Enrolment of children in kindergarten is based on priority given in the following order:

For those who live outside of the local intake area, an out-of-area enrolment in kindergarten at Kensington Primary School does not guarantee enrolment in Pre-primary and beyond.  A new application for enrolment must be made for Pre-primary for all students.

Pre Primary to Year 6

Kensington Primary School is designated as a Local Intake School. The school guarantees a place for students in Pre-Primary – Year 6 who reside within the boundaries of the local intake area as have been determined by the Department of Education.
